Tearfree has just had two jam-packed weeks, but things are starting to calm down and regular blogging will start up again later this week when she shows you her new boots along with the long-promised photos of the new puppy dog. There will also be plenty of value judgments and the latest news on Crocs, softwood lumber, Jack Bauer, Dr. O. and more.
In the mean time, does Tearfree need to worry about this. Or should she just buy new shoes and forget about it?

Mall warns Croc wearers to be careful on escalators
By JENNIFER STEWART Staff Reporter
Watch your feet!
Management at Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth has put up signs at all escalators warning customers wearing Crocs or similar rubbery footwear to use extra caution when riding the moving staircases.
General manager Terry Harvie said the signs were posted in August after three incidents of customers getting their bright-coloured clogs caught in the moving parts.
"People have a tendency when they go down an escalator to sort of lean back on their heels and lift their toes up," Mr. Harvie said Thursday. "Well, (the shoes) are so soft and you’re putting a lot of extra weight on them and they squash out.
"We’ve had incidents where they get caught in the edge of the escalator. Nobody’s been hurt or anything, but it rips the shoe."
He said the signs, which advise customers to stand in the middle of the escalator, are "just to be on the safe side."
The mall has also ordered brushes for the sides of the escalators to prevent objects from getting caught.
Crocs and their many look-alikes became hugely popular this year because of their extreme comfort and versatility. The waterproof, odour-proof shoes are ideal for the outdoors and have even crept into office wear.
Linda Townsend, spokeswoman for Halifax Shopping Centre, said they’d heard about the signs at Mic Mac Mall but haven’t put up any of their own.
"We haven’t had any incidents on our property."
It’s not known whether customers in other areas have experienced similar problems with the footwear.
A spokesperson for Crocs Inc. could not be reached Thursday or Friday.
